Back in March of this year, I wrote about Coho Data and their awesome software-defined storage. There were a few storage problems that I highlighted that the DataStream 1000 solves:
- Difficult to scale out
- Need to buy spindles for IOPS
- Expensive, proprietary hardware
- High cost per IO with spinning disk
Do you experience any of these problems in your environments? I’m really interested in knowing more about this, and as such, I’ve partnered with the guys over at Coho to offer some giveaways in exchange for your feedback on this growing problem. All you’ll have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post answering two simple questions.
The Goods
This giveaway is going to run for the month of May and we’ll offer a few different winnings. I will collect entires and select winners at random using https://www.random.org/ First off, we’re going to give away a t-shirt once a week! If you have entered the contest in a given week, you’ll be eligible to win an awesome Coho Data shirt that week. I wore mine last Friday, and it did require a bit of explaining to non-IT folks in the cafeteria 😉 It says “Don’t fsck with the fish” Second, at the end of the month we’re going to give away a Coho Data branded backpack. I’ve been using the exact same backpack as the one we’re going to give away since they gave it to me in March, and it may be my favorite backpack ever. It’s ridiculously slim and fits a surprisingly large amount of stuff once you figure out how to organize it.
Entering the Contest
So how can you be entered to win? It’s simple: fill out the form below with your feedback on the following two questions! Once you’ve submitted the form, you’ll be entered to win!
- What is your biggest storage problem today? Technically, operationally, organizationally?
- What excites you about the present developments in the storage market? (SDS, hybrid/all-flash arrays, etc)
It’s that simple! If you are a winner, I will contact you to get your shipping information. Good luck! One last thing: would you please share this post? I’d love to get as much feedback as possible, and I’d also love lots of people to be able to win the awesome backpack. If you wouldn’t mind tweeting/e-mailing/sharing this post, that’d be awesome!
