Solarwinds is one of the more ‘veteran’ sponsors of the Tech Field Day event series. They’ve been at more of them than I’m going to list. Their community focus is great, and this is also evidenced by their thwack community. The expected product under review at this event would be Virtualization Manager, which is a multi-hypervisor tool that would compete with the likes of vROps or parts of VMTurbo. A major bonus is that it integrates well with the rest of the Solarwinds portfolio, so it may be a fantastic fit for an organization already using one of their other tools like SAM. Julian has an idea of what it would take to impress him – I like it!!
“I want to see deep and broad integration that can highlight any VM performance issue and correlate that to dropped packets on a WAN router or a wow factor would be showing connectivity issues due to missing firewall rules”
